The Speaker  of the Ogun State House of Assembly , Olakunle Oluomo, has been arrested  by the Anti-Graft Agency, the Economic  and Financial  Crimes Commission(EFCC) , over  allegations of  offences   connected  with  financial crimes.

 

 

Oluomo was picked   on Thursday at the Murtala Mohammed Airport , Ikeja, Lagos  by the operatives  of EFCC  following a tip off.

 

Sources informed  Channels Television’s  judiciary correspondent, Shola Soyele that he was  picked  by officials  of the EFCC to answer  questions not unconnected with  an alleged financial crimes

 

The leadership of the Commission  has kept mum over the arrest but are expected to issue  a statement  shortly.

 

However,  a source within  the Commission admitted that the  Ogun tate Speaker had been invited  by the  EFCC several  times  but failed  to honour  the invitations

 

Reports revealed that  , he was undergoing  further grilling  in the custody of  the agency.

Meanwhile, the Ogun tate House of Assembly  has remained calm  after the arrest of the Speaker  by the EFCC Operatives

 

 

Athough  the situation  remaind calm, the gate leading  to the assembly  remains shut , as men  of the Nigerian  Civil Defence Corps  manned the entrance gate.

 

 

Also,  the entrance to the area was restricted  as visitors in and out side  the complex were turned back.
