Over 19 professors from various disciplines, including  a female, are vying for the position of the Vice-Chancellor  of the University of Jos(UNIJOS)

 

 

 

This is as a result of the expiration of the tenure of office of the former  VC professor Sabastian Seddi Maimako, in  June.

 

 

 

 

The lucky ones shortlisted  for the exercise, which began on Wednesday, will be screened by a Committee for a highly coveted position.

 

 

 

 

 

The Nation gathered that those angling for the VC position  include: Paul Mamza (ABU-Zaria), Wonang David(UNIJOS), Bernard Mature(UNIJOS), Dimis Mailafia(UNIJOS), Wannang  Noel(UNIJOS0, Ashom Maisamari (UNIABUJA), Daniel Dabi(UNIJOS0, Sylvester Shikyi(UNIJOS) and Yiltok Simon(UNIJOS)

 

 

 

 

Others  are Urian Alex Lar(UNIJOS), Isuwa Jur mang*(UNIJOS), Tanko Ishaya(UNIJOS) Patricia Lar(UNIJOS), Pam Yakubu(UNIJOS) Adoyi Onoja(NSU), Dung Pam Sha UNIJOS) and Eugene  A, (NSU Keffi).

 

 

 

 

Of the 19 contestants aspiring for the VC position,14 of them are within the university of Jos while 5 are from outside UNIJOS.

 

 

 

 

The only female candidate among the contestants is professor  Patricia Lar. She is a professor of Medical Microbiology in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Natural Sciences f the University of Jos.
