The Consulate –General of Nigeria in New York  City says it is arranging to register Nigerians living in the US for NIN as part of the directive of the Federal Government to have Nigerians documented in the country’s database.

This was revealed by the Consul- General, Lot Epojika, at the Hybrid Town Hall Meeting held at the Nigerian House in New York to Nigerians living there.

According to Epojika, there has been a directive by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enroll Nigerians n the US.

Recall a few days ago, Mr. Patanmi extended the National identity Number (NIN)-Subscriber Identity  Module (SIM) date Verification to October 31.

The Nigerian envoy said that the consulate would soon conclude an arrangement with the National Identity Management Commission on the NIN registration.

According to Mr. Epojika , when he assumed office as the Consular General some months ago, he pledged to have regular interactive sessions with Nigerians living in the US to get feedback and update them with the developments at the Consulate.
