The Ogun State police have arrested a  three-year-old person, Ikenna  James, for choking and assaulting to ignominy degree an alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo   University (OAU), Ife, Oluwatosin Adefisayo.

 

 

 

The twenty-nine-year-old Oluwatosin was  supposed to be the suspect’s neighbor in the Ogijo region in Sagamu, LGA.

 

 

 

 

It was gathered that the suspect, in collaboration with his accomplice, who is currently at large, broke into the victim’s room in the evening and assaulted her, and later strangulated her.

 

 

 

 

The police spokesperson in the State, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told COLUMNISTS on Thursday in Abeokuta that the guardians and other neighbours of the victim oke to the gory scene and were alerted by the vigilante in the area.

 

 

 

At the scene of the murder, Ikenna, the alleged rapist was seen descending from the roof where he hid but was caught and handed over to the police.

 

 

 

 

According to Oyeyemi,’’ On interrogation, Ikenna James, hose partner in crime had bolted away, confessed to the crime.

 

 

 

 

He told the police that they decided to kill the victim after raping her because she recognized them.

 

 

 

 

‘’Ikenna’s parents, who described his arrest as good riddance to bad rubbish, said, they had given up on him as he’s been the black sheep of the family.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They also appealed  to the authorities  concerned to ensure  that appropriate punishment was meted out to him’’
