The popular Nollywood actress, INI EDO, has debunked the reports that her sperm donor is an anonymous person.
The 39 –year-old star had revealed that she had her daughter via surrogacy to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother.
‘’Yes, I do have a daughter and I had her through surrogacy. The eggs are mine and so genetically she’s my blood’’.
’’I chose this path to fulfill my dream of becoming a mother’’, she had said.
‘’She continues,’’I still have a good number of eggs frozen in case I decide to do surrogacy again or carry my baby myself, who knows’’.
The movie star, in an exclusive interview with Blogger Stella Dimor Korkus, denied rumours that a married man is her baby’s father.
Talking about the baby’s daddy, she explained she opted for a sperm donor for peace of mind.
She added that it was to avoid public controversies over custody of the child.
‘’I opted for a donor for me and my baby‘s peace of mind. Another major reason I opted for a donor is that it scares me so much when I see banter and controversies between a mother and father over a baby in public or when I see the man insisting he wants his child if things don’t work out between both parties,’’ she said.
The news evoked mixed reactions from social media users. while some congratulated her for being a mother, some criticized her decision and serialized the likely implications of it on the child.
One of such critics is a Ghanaian writer, Waterz Yidana, who slammed her for having her baby using an anonymous ‘’donor sperm’’.
