…..Commends OSHIAs tenacity and resilient spirit to make the scheme the best in Nigeria
The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment in supporting the transformative policies of Osun State Health Insurance Agency(OSHIA) for the betterment of the people of the State.
The Speaker made the pledge while granting audience to the Management of OHIA on an advocacy visit to the floor of the State Parliament.
Hon. Egbedun who acknowledged the wonderful job being carried out by the Agency since its inception in cushioning the cost effects of providing qualitative good health care to the people, affirmed the readiness of the Assembly members to muster both moral and official backings at their disposals in boosting the massive enrollment drive being carried out Dr. Akindele led OSHIA.
The Speaker retorted “we shall continue to support transformative policies of your Agency for the betterment of the state, so I want to use this medium to thank you for your kind gestures.
“I urge you to keep the tempo of efficiency and commitment you have been associate with high in a scheme aimed at making the people of Osun State enjoy good health delivery system at a minimal cost ” echoed Hon. Egbedun’s remarks on behalf of all law makers in the state.
Earlier, in his address, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Rasaq Akindele implored all lawmakers to enroll at least 100 members of their constituents into OHIS, stressing that it will give more people the opportunity to enjoy affordable healthcare services across the State.
Dr. Rasaq Akindele told the law makers that the Agency under his watch has extended the enrollment drive to people living with disabilities as well as HIV and pregnant women.
He further disclosed that, the Agency currently looks beyond making the scheme an exclusive preserve for only Civil Servants and Pensioners but the entire population of the state.
According to Dr. Akindele“Of the over 5.5 million people in Osun State, we want to make sure that, at least 3 million people gets enrolled with the Scheme, so if each of all the 26 members of the Assembly personally enrolls 100 members of their constituencies, that means,we have about 2,600 people that will benefit from the scheme.” Emphasized Dr Akindele.
