Commercial Motorcycle Riders have been admonished to discountenance rumours making the rounds that Senator Ademola Adeleke Administration in the State has relaxed the law enforcing them to have identity vests and cards.
This was made known by the Executive Secretary Osun state Office of Transportation Engineer Bilau Adiat, while featuring on a radio programme tagged’’aabo loju popo’’ and aired on OSBC FM Radio in Osogbo.

According to him, the current Administration recognizes the importance of identifying every Commercial motorcycle rider in the State as means of ensuring the security of both those who mount it as well as the riders themselves, urging them to stop the false narrative.
Engineer Adiat said, with the aid of the identity vests and cards, the State Government, through the office of Transportation has been able to get the proper records and bio-data of every Commercial motorcycle operator in Osun, something which he said has made their job easier.
Commenting further, on the importance of the identity vests and cards on the operators of commercial motorcycles in the State, Engineer Adiat said, the move has helped the security agencies, especially the police, to track criminals using motorcycles to perpetuate crime across the State.
He said, Senator Ademola Adeleke Government since its assumption of office, has shown unprecedented zeal, courage and commitment to assist the office of Transportation in ensuring the State is safe for both pedestrians and motorists alike.
In his words, ’’the new Government has not relaxed the law asking commercial motorcycle riders in Osun State to get their identity vests and cards as being peddled around in some quarters’’.
Mr Governor knows that the identity vests and cards are for the safety of both the rider and those who use the motorcycle as a means of moving from point A to point B; the vest is reflective at night which also helps to reduce accidents. It is a MUST, they MUST all secure it ‘’, he emphasized.
