The trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), Kanu Nnamdi, has been adjourned till January 19th, 2022.
This is the sequel to Kanu’s team of lawyers, who staged a walkout over the refusal of the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow some of them access into the courtroom.
The counsel to Kanu, who furiously left the courtroom, include Barrister Aloy Ejimakor and Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
Kanu himself had lamented the refusal of Bruce FEIN, his lawyer from the diaspora, to enter the courtroom. He claimed Fein had been handling a case for him in the USA.
When asked by the judge, Justice Binta Nyako, if he was ready to conduct proceedings himself in the absence of his lawyers, Kanu gave a ‘’No’’ answer.
Notwithstanding, Justice Nyarko expressed displeasure over the conduct of Kanu’s lawyer and subsequently adjourned the case till January 19 and 20,2022 for trial.
