The Governor of Lagos State , Babajide Sanwoolu on Monday was on his Social Media handle to announce the current delivery of two new EMU trains in Lagos.

According to the Governor, the trains have been cleared at the Lagos ports and have been moved to the National Theatre Station where they have been lifted to the elevated rail tracks via the Marina axis.
On his social media angle, Sanwoolu wrote:
‘’Dear Lagos,
We have taken delivery of two new train sets for the Blue Line Rail.
These passenger trains have been cleared at the point of entry and have been moved to the National Theatre Station where they have been lifted onto elevated rail tracks.
I am indeed glad to inform the good people of Lagos that with the arrival of these train sets, we’re on course with our plans to change the face of rail transport system in Lagos State.

Recall that in December 2022 , the governor with his members of his cabinet went on a test ride drive from the National Theatre Station, Iganmu, to Marina on Lagos Island ; a pointer to the readiness of the 27 km intra city rail system.
It is hopeful that very soon , the official commissioning will be announced .

The Blue Rail mass transit line is a 27km project spanning Marina, Iganmu , Mile 2, Alaba and Okokomaiko.
The two new coaches are part of the new trains that were ordered from China and will be integrated into the Lagos Light Rail Project.
