The Federal Government of Nigeria has come out with a new and bold educational policy for admission to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) in Non -State Schools

The Federal Government now seals age 12 as the new minimum standard for pupils seeking admission to JSS1 after the six-years of primary school education at age 12.

The policy refers to non-State schools as independent or private schools or non- government schools. These are schools not solely controlled by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

  • Recall ,that non-State owned Schools are basically financed by tuition payments and also via donations from private individuals, businesses, communities and faith-based Schools that are not managed by the government.
