Drivers and Car Owners To Take Notice-FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps, on Tuesday made a pronouncement via its spokesman, Bisi Kazeem in line with the directive from the Corps Marshall of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi to all officers of Road Safety Agencies across the country to seize and impound rickety vehicles plying Nigeria roads.

In his statement, the FRSC spokesman Bisi Kazeem said that the directive is meant to reduce road crashes. The FRSC boss highlighted the health, safety, and economic benefits of regular vehicle maintenance.

While recalling the common sight of poorly maintained vehicles on nation’s highways, which breaks down and cause obstructions for traffics, the corps Marshall implored motorists to ensure regular maintenance of their vehicles, to reduce the inherent traffic hazards associated with abandoned and broken down vehicles, most especially at night,’’ he said.

Mr. Kazeem warned that ‘’owners of impounded vehicles would pay a fine and also made to undergo a compulsory road safety education’’.
