Clinical services have fully resumed at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi, following the suspension of strike action by the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), BSUTH chapter.
In a statement issued by the hospital’s management, the ARD officially called off its strike and returned to work with immediate effect, restoring normal operations across all clinical and related departments of the hospital.
The management of BSUTH expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the government negotiating team, relevant stakeholders, and other well-meaning individuals whose timely intervention and commitment facilitated the resolution of the issues that led to the industrial action.
The hospital also commended the ARD for their understanding, cooperation, and renewed dedication to service, noting that their decision to resume work reflects a shared commitment to the health and wellbeing of the people of Benue State.
While appreciating the patience and support shown by members of the public during the strike period, BSUTH management reassured patients of its continuous commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and quality healthcare services.
Members of the public have been advised that they can now fully access clinical services at the hospital.
