Every citizen has at least two options open to him in relating to NATIONAL EVENTS in his fatherland. He could decide to be apathetic, unconcerned, detached and dumb;or decide to be actively involved and expressive.

(Samuel and sibling)

Today, the 9th of October, being the World Post Day,a Nigerian Teenager, Who will clock 14 years next December,2024 has chosen the second option ,speaking aloud with his fashionista Stamps-made Clothe celebrating our Nigeria’s heritage -The Post Office, also known as NIPOST with a Difference!!!

His name is master Awolola Samuel Olufemi,a JSS3 student of Goodwill Group of Schools,Oke-Obagun in Osun State.

When young Awolola Samuel Olufemi was interviewed as to why he decided to celebrate NIPOST in the manner he did, using old NIPOST stamps to fashion out a beautiful dress for himself and his sibling, his response was-“When my elder sister told me about the World Post Day,I decided to ask my Grandpa about it because I know that he has many stamp collections with him”

“So,me and my sister decided to make a research about it and we found out that it would come up on October 9th.So,we started making the material with our father’s stamps”, Olufemi said.

Samuel could be regarded as an epitome of creativity and a lover of his Dear Country,Nigeria and its heritage. Samuel has a burning passion for Nigeria and her institutions, which should be a lamppost to every Nigerian ,both at home and in the diaspora.

Of course,we should also applaud Samuel’s Grandpa who took it upon himself to love the art of stamp collection -philately and does it with passion and also passed the history to his grandchildren.History will not forget him and his family whenever the news of the 150th World Post Day is mentioned all over the world and in Nigeria in particular.

The Awolola’s family merits Guinness Book of Records and possibly an award by Nigerian NIPOST.

Young Samuel aspires to become an accountant in future. We pray that God crown his present and future endeavours.

The Interviews Nigeria wishes NIPOST a happy 150th Anniversary Celebrations and Kudos to the young Awolola for his ingenuity.
