The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Muhammed Tanko has resigned his appointment after facing gross corruption and misconduct charges from at least 14 Supreme Court Judges.

According to Gazzette News, the resignation of Tanko is to take effect immediately.  Recall that Gazzette News  had earlier published a number of articles that were related to a protest against the Cheif  Justice of Nigeria  by a good number of Justices from the Supreme  Court whose accusations against him involve corruption, misconduct, and neglect of personal welfare.

However,  the outgoing Chief Justice accused the Judges of dancing naked in the marketplace and absolved himself of any form of wrongdoing, pointing out that he was not involved in any form of corruption or misconduct.

As a  result of the news of his resignation, many Nigerians have taken to different social media platforms to react that his resignation was timely , while others were skeptical.
