His name is Ikechukwu Divine Oramife. The 15-year-old Nigerian boy revealed that it took him two weeks to successfully make a car.
Ikechukwu said he began building mini-machines such as helicopters, caterpillars, airplanes, tricycles among others at the age of 11 years.
According to him, what he built now are from scraps, but he has the ability to build motorable cars but the inability to procure required materials has been his challenge to do so.
Ikechukwu ‘s ambition is to become an automobile engineer and wishes to go to school in order to be able to hone and develop his skill to fulfill his ambition.
In the interview with BBC Pidgin, Ikechukwu said his next level of production shall be to build a tanker.
When asked what he uses for his productions,’’ I dey use aluminum, copper wire, glue, Dunlop condemned DVD”. He uses other local materials to fashion out his inventions.
With the recent launch or exposure of this little genius to the outside world, it is hoped that he would be assisted by well-meaning Nigerians and the Nigeria Government via the Ministry of Science and Technology to enable Ikechukwu to perfect his skill in school for better grooming. He should not be allowed to rot away like thousands of his types in the past.
