Mrs Stella Nwadigo, a teacher at Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has been arrested over the alleged physical abuse of a three-year-old child, Abayomi Micheal.
This was revealed In a video clip that captured Stella hitting the little boy during a lesson in class as it went viral on social media on Wednesday.
The video, which attracted condemnation from several citizens, was shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.
Hours after the video surfaced on the internet, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, issued a statement confirming that the suspect had been arrested.
According to the Adejobi: “One Stella Nwadigo, aged 45, the teacher who physically abused the 3-year-old Abayomi Micheal of Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, has been arrested by the police.
She was arrested on Tuesday, January 8, 2025, immediately after the criminal act.
Meanwhile the teacher has been put on suspension as investigation into the matter is on-going.
