…seeks fast implementation of disability law in the State
Persons living with disabilities in Osun State have charged the State Governor, Ademola Adeleke to consider the group in the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise.
The group under the aegis, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Osun State Chapter, in a statement issued by its Chairman, Stephen Oluwafemi, also called for quick implementation of the disability law passed in the state.
The group, also urged the government to take decisive action to implement the provisions of the bill, particularly in the ongoing teacher’s recruitment exercise.
“We call on the government to ensure that persons with disabilities are given fair representation and equal opportunities in the recruitment process.
“The implementation of this bill will not only improve the lives of persons with disabilities but also enhance the socio-economic development of Osun State,the statement said.
“We, therefore, appeal to the government to ensure inclusive recruitment processes in all state government agencies, provide reasonable accommodations and support services for persons with disabilities, and allocate sufficient resources for the implementation of the bill.”
“We are confident that the Osun State Government will take prompt action to implement the Disability Bill, and we look forward to working together to create a more inclusive Society”,the group appealed.
