Osun LGSC Boss,Tunji Adeleke Gives Kudos To HLAs For Good Performance

…says,”Don’t relent in your good work”

Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in Osun State have been commended for their diligence in running the affairs of council areas, with the charge not to relent in the good work.

Osun State Local Government Service Commission Chairman, Hon. Tunji Adeleke (Jnr) made the statement at a crucial meeting with the HLAs held in the Multipurpose Hall of the Commission in Osogbo.

The LGSC Boss, who affirmed that the door of his office is wide open for consultation and cross fertilisation of ideas on how to move the local government system forward charged the HLAs to,”feel free to approach me, any of the Commissioners and the Permanent Secretary at any time.”

He then informed them that the Commission and it’s management would soon be embarking on familiarisation tour to all council areas, and that they will be duely notified when the itinerary for the tour is ready.

The LGSC Chairman, who was dressed in adire outfit however harped on the need for the local government career heads to adorn the indigenous fabric on Wednesdays, in compliance with the directive of the State helmsman, in order to serve as good examples to their surbodinates.

In her remarks, the newly deployed Permanent Secretary to the Commission, Mrs Modupe Irelewuyi enjoined the HLAs to continue to be good ambassadors of the Commission in their duty posts.

While telling them that the Commission would be relying substantially on information that comes from them,Mrs Irelewuyi also assured that all information will be passed through them to their staff.

Speaking on the issue of posting instruction, the Permanent Secretary emphasized the need for the HLAs to know their staff very well so that they could be relied upon for objective report on them.

Mrs. Irelewuyi did not fail to appreciate them for the relative peace that had returned to the Council areas after the May Day fracas which was precipitated by Local Government Union activities, and expressed the hope that the peace would be sustained.

In his remarks,on behalf of the Forum, the Chairman, Forum of HLAs, Dr Adewale Adedapo, who welcome the Permanent Secretary back to her crib, promised a renewed hundred percent support to the Commission.

While clarifying issues on the May Day fracas, Dr. Adedapo assured that the prevailing peace would continue.

He then appealed to the Commission to always consider the input of the Forum Head on posting instructions of HLAs.

Highlight of the meeting, at which the two Commissioners, the Special Adviser and the management team were present, was the observance of one minute silence in honour of the departed former HLA, Odo Otin North LCDA, late Mr Ayoade Bolaji, who passed on recently.
