…. Police arrest Deadly Cultists/Armed Robbers/Murderers/ House Breakers/IBEDC Vandals, Possession of Firearms And Recovery of Arms And Ammunition From Suspects
Thursday 26 June 2025 marks the Chronicle of the giant landmark achievements of the Nigerian Police Command ,Osun State under the able leadership of the new Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Gotan.
This was made known at a Press briefing with Journalists at the Command headquarters Osogbo by the State Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Gotan.
According to the CP, his men are ready to dislodge criminals and criminality in Osun State. “No room for crime and criminality in Osun”, he echoed.
“Implementing the operational strategies put in place,the Osun State Police Command’s Swift Action Squad,(SAS) while on stop and search on 21/06/2025 along Ile-Ife/Ibadan expressway,OSU,arrested IBEDC Vandals on motorbike who, allegedly have been terrorising the environments with bags tied to their motorcycles”, the CP said.

“It was discovered that the bags contained IBEDC cable -wire suspected to have been stolen. The two suspects,one Usman Abubakar ‘m’ 25years and Bashiru Garuba ‘m’ 26 years along with the exhibit were arrested.”
The CP’s surveillance team of the Command’s intense efforts led to the recovery of seven motorcycles,three Boxers with Registration No–WSN ,409 VC, JJB 805 QH, QW OI FST and four unregistered Two Big Sacks containing IBEDC cable wire and two saw blades. The suspects claimed to be scrap dealers at Modakeke.”
Also, on 24 /6/2024 at about 8:30pm on a credible information,the Command’s CP’s Surveillance squad led by the Commander on stop and search along Osogbo-Ilesa Road, intercepted a Toyota Camry with Registration number-PRESIDENCY NAN 27ZD driven by one Adewale Kehinde ‘m’ age 35 years and three(3) other occupants;one Adebayo Ayuba ‘m’ age 22 years,Oladipo Abeeb ‘m’ age 23 years and Adeniyi Mustapha ‘m’ age 21 years.

They claimed to be students. The vehicle was thoroughly searched and an English Beretta Pistol and two empty magazines carefully concealed in a box inside the vehicle were recovered alongside a cutlass and some criminal charms.”
Investigation revealed that the suspect’s are criminals terrorising Ilesa/OSU and it’s environs,the statement said.
Similarly, on 1/6/25,the Anti-cultism Squad of the Command received an Intel that, some armed hoodlums suspected to be members of the Eiye Confraternity led by one Tajudeen Abass ‘m’ age 25 years,, popularly known as “Apola”,one Adeparusin Kehinde ‘m’ age 23 years, popularly known as “Kehinde Mansion” and others, invaded Oke-Ola area, Osogbo during Osogbo Masquerade festival and killed one Awoniyi Kazeem ‘m’ age 25 years and took to their heels. The Commander of the Squad and his team embarked on a fact finding and in depth enquiry which led to the arrest of Adeparusin Kehinde a .k.a “Kehinde Mansion” and Ariyibi Dada ‘m’ age 25 years popularly
known as “Enu-Ose”.The suspected killers Awoniyi Kareem and the following exhibits were recovered: two unregistered Qlink motorcycles and three(3) English made Barrera pistols. Efforts are still in progress to arrest the fleeing suspects.”

According to the CP Osun State Command, “the Squad upon a distress call received on 25/6/2025 at about 2:30 am,that some hoodlums invaded a house located at Iledande area,in Osogbo, swiftly moved to the area and arrested one of the suspects Ibrahim Rafiu’m’ age 21 years while others were at large”. The team, however,recovered one unregistered Bazuki motorcycle which was later discovered to be the property of Evangelism Baptist Church Idi -Ape Area,Ejigbo,Osun State.

He goes further to say that investigation revealed that, “the recovered motorcycle used for the operation was stolen from the house of one Pastor Okewande Oluwatobi ‘m’ of Palm Hotel Area,Ejigbo on 26/6/2025 which was earlier reported at Ejigbo Police Station along with the other items which were yet to be recovered.
“The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation”,he said.
The Commissioner of Police,Ibrahim Gotan,(mnips) commended the professionalism of officers and men of the Command for their dedication to duty.
