Veteran Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has revealed the heartbreaking reason she remains unmarried at the age of 54. In a candid interview with her colleague Emmanuel Ehumadu, she disclosed that her soulmate passed away, leaving her unwilling to settle for a marriage without true commitment.
She shared:
“He died… I don’t talk about it, but he died. Do you know how long it took me to find him? A very long time, but he is gone. I don’t believe in getting married just for the sake of marriage. If you are not going to be truthful to your vows, then why are you doing it?”
Akintola emphasized the importance of finding someone she could truly spend forever with, adding that while she is open to remarriage, it would only happen if she finds a lifelong partner, even if she’s 82.
“Do you know how difficult marriage is? It is very difficult. Why would I go into it with someone I know I can’t do forever with?”
Bimbo Akintola made her acting debut in Owo Blow (1995) alongside Femi Adebayo, followed by Out of Bounds (1997) with Richard Mofe-Damijo. Her exceptional talent earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards.
