JPB/NCDP Meetings: Governor Adeleke Implores Participants To Propel Nigeria On The Path Of Growth, Development

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has stressed the need for all the States of the Federation to always come together to chart the course that will propel Nigeria on the path of growth and development.
Governor Adeleke made this known in his closing address at the 22nd edition of the Joint Planning Board/National Council Planning Board meetings held for 3 days in Osogbo, the State capital.
The Governor who extolled the organizers for picking a good theme, “Imperatives For Restoring Nigeria On The Path Of Sustainable Economic Growth And Development”, said it is only in togetherness that new horizons that can brighten the future of Nigeria as a nation can be explored.
He thanked the Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu and all the participants from all the States of the Federation for their contributions to making the programme a great success, adding that the gathering, which is the first to be hosted since the creation of the State, is not only a testament to Osun State’s commitment to national development but also a reflection of the collective dedication to finding innovative solutions to the complex challenges facing Nigeria as a whole.
Speaking, the Minster for Budget and Economic Planning, who is also the Chairman of the meeting said it is an annual event that provides an opportunity for those who are responsible for economic planning, as well as other representatives of the Federal Government and private sector, to meet, brainstorm and interrogate the government planning and cooperation so that Nigeria can do better.
The Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, in his goodwill message, commended Governor Adeleke for accepting to host the meetings, trumpeting that the State has made remarkable strides in various sectors under his visionary leadership.
The State Scribe then implored the participants to harness their collective wisdom, experience and expertise to chart the way forward for Nigeria’s sustainable economic growth and development.
While presenting the projects implemented by the current administration in the State, in a 15-minute documentary, Osun Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, lauded Governor Adeleke for creating an enabling environment for the programme, which he said will promote the economy of Osun and Nigeria at large, disclosed that very soon, the State helmsman will turn the sod for the construction of two flyovers.
Earlier in his introductory remarks, the host Commissioner, Prof. Ademola Adeleke appreciated the participants, noting that their commitment to the nation’s progress is exemplary. He expressed confidence that the resolutions and recommendations reached will move Nigeria forward.
