In a bid to make room for healthy living among the residents of Osun, especially those who are battling with one adverse medical condition or the other, the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has embarked on free medical outreach.
The programme is expected to benefit over two thousand residents from all 9 Federal Constituencies in the State. The medical team is scheduled to spend two days in each of the Federal Constituencies.
The Coordinating Director of, the Hospital Management Board, Dr Abayomi Oni disclosed this during an interview with the Press Officer of the Ministry, Mrs Segilola Babalola.
Dr Oni hinted that the programme, as scheduled by the State Government, is coordinated by the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, which shall run in the State Hospitals at Iwo, Ede, Ikire, Ila Orangun, Osogbo, Ile- Ife, Ilesa, Ipetu Ijesha and Okuku on designated dates.
Dr Oni further disclosed that the surgery operations, covered by the free mobile surgical and medical outreach, will include cataracts, pterygium, Hernia, Hydrocele, Lipoma, keloids, and some swelling on the body, noting that medical conditions like diabetes, malaria, cough, tuberculosis and other diseases would also be treated by the team of medical practitioners.
Dr Oni confessed that the medical team was overwhelmed by the number of patients that had turned up so far for the programme, enthusing that the medical mission, which is facilitated by Governor Ademola Adeleke, would prevent casualties which would have been recorded without the intervention.
He then advised the residents of Osun to embrace the programme as it continues in Ejigbo and Ilesa.
