The Chairman of the Osun Online Publishers Association, Jare Tiamiyu has declared its Digital Media Week opened loaded with a weeklong activities.
The Day 1 of the programme took off with a press briefing where the Chairman of the Committee for the Osun Digital Media Week, Ajelogbon Mukhtar took his time to outline what Osun people and the world will witness during this 5-days action-packed programme.
According to Ajelogbon, the weeklong activities are not only to celebrate ourselves and worthy individuals in Osun but also to interrogate a very crucial issue that’s affecting the world including the Osun State Climate Change.
As part of her Corporate Social Responsibility,(CSR) OOPA visited two notable indigenous markets in Osogbo –the [popular Oluode and Alekuwodo Markets.
At the markets, OOPA gave the market men and women the opportunity to understand why their environments must be made tidy at all times. They were reminded and educated on the importance of hygiene and why they should prevent littering the environment with garbage in the gutters to prevent flooding during the rainy season.
OOPA demonstrated this hygienic preoccupation by helping to clear the market environment of debris around the markets and presented some dustbins as precepts. Cash donations were also presented.
It was a memorable day as immediately after leaving the markets, another trip was made to the orphanage home-FOMWAN HOME, Ogo-Oluwa Area, Osogbo.
Various consumable items and cash donations were given to the home as charity gifts.
Day 2 of the programme shall take the group to Owu-Kuta to formally decorate the Olowu of Kuta HRM Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama, CON, as the Association’s Patron in his Palace.
