Police operatives of zone 2 command that cover Lagos and Ogun states have arrested three men found with two human hearts.
The Zonal Public Relations Officer, SP Tunni Ayuba, stated in Lagos on Thursday that the human hearts were discovered while searching the house of one of the suspects in the Oke-Ola area of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.
According to the police spokesperson, during interrogation, the suspect named a man to whom he claimed to have given N50,000 to assist in acquiring two human hearts.
The second suspect identified the third suspect as the source of the human parts.
The two alleged human hearts have been transferred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for evaluation, according to SP Ayuba, who also stated that the investigation is still underway.
Meanwhile, a mob in the Welepe Kujore area of Sagamu, Ogun State, on Monday allegedly clubbed a man identified as Idowu to death.
Idowu, it was gathered from an eyewitness was found lying in the pool of his blood with injuries to his legs and forehead.
A source, who pleaded anonymity revealed that the deceased victim might have been mistaken for a robber. Also, a source in the Sagamu Police Division, where the matter was reported, said the deceased might have been innocent.
The source added that the Division was embarking on a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances behind the death of Idowu.
