A world Media Conference took place at the executive chamber of Exco Governor’s Lounge ,Abere,Osogbo,Osun State on 17th November,2025.
The Conference,under the auspices of Governor Adeleke and his team sought to sensitize participants, media, Osun people,and the world at large on the epoch making coming event that Osun people are culturally endowed.
While delivering his speech at the occasion,the Secretary to the State Government,Bobagunwa Teslim Igbalaye was very elated informing the world,that Governor Adeleke,(the innovator of the Adire Osun Festival), has declared Afire Osun Festival an annual event with the aim of promoting cultural and economic values of Osun State.
According to Mr Teslim Igbalaye,”the
festival will showcase the unique Adire textile which is a symbol of Osun history and creativity.”

Street Show:
The Bobagunwa of Osogbo, Teslim Igbalaye was affirmative that Adire Osun Festival 2025 will feature colourful street show of Adire fabrics,promoting Osun rich culture and tradition and also to reclaim Osun and Osogbo’s historical place as the Source of “Aro” and “Adire”, he said.
In his own speech, Hon. Tunde LaFave, SSA to the governor on Creative Economy,Events and Entertainment, said,” Adire Osun Festival is the strategic vision of his Excellency, Governor Adeleke-Imole ,to the good people of Osun State.”
ADOF’25, according to Him LaFave Tunde ,embodies Youth Empowerment Engagement, Employment and Creative interaction with a major potential for general community development across the State.
“To date, while still in the evolution stage,ADOF has already empowered over 1000 Adire producers, Fashion Designers, Craftsmen, Accessories makers and many others.
Adire Export Summit:
As lined up for the Festival,the Adire Osun Festival Export Summit shall come up on the 19 the of December,2025 at the Oasis Event Centre,which will showcase the Trade and Export Business and the Adire Fashion elements of Adire Osun. The main event- The Adire Osun Carnival is scheduled for Saturday 20th December, 2025.
In his words “The Yorucentric Street Carnival will start at 10am from Olaiya junction to Old Garage,to the popular Ajegunle,enroute Igbona,Ayetoro,then to the Stadium Roundabout, heading back to to Old Garage and move to the new IMOLE DEE Fly-over at Oke-FIA,where we shall turn to Freedom Park ,the Heart of Osogbo Metropolis,” he said.
ADIRE CARNIVAL:
At the Freedom Park, the Carnival Ensemble and Celebration of Adire Osun will progress.The Carnival will draw to a close by 9,pm and dovetail into an all-Nite Concert featuring top Nigerian artists,Osun based artists,DJs,Comedians,Hypemen,Dancers and the like.
Carnival Street Parade/Main Stage
There is going to be a carnival Street Parade and main stage Events. The Carnival Street Parade will be at every major junction along the selected routes and will feature Live Bands/DJs/ MC plus Hypemen.
The Carnival main Stage will be at the old garage,with a Live Band on ground to entertain His Excellency and other VIP Guests.
Also, Ajegunle will have a Live Band manned by one of their own. Ajegunle junction, Stadium Roundabout, Igbona and IMOLE Fly-over areas,will also feature DJs,Hypemen, MCs and Live Bands.
People’s Welfare:
Provision has been made for people’s Welfare with Water-Points to cool off along the dedicated routes and canopies will line the streets.
ICONIC FLOATS:
Yorucentric Carnival train is focused on celebrating many Yoruba ICONS.
The Iconic Floats will culturally feature and celebrate with Arugba, Ile-Ife with Ori-Olokun, Edekabd with Sango and Ikeda with Ogedengbe,the great warrior.
His Excellency,the governor ,the Chief Host as well as Chief Mrs Okundaye(Mama Nike), ADOF Queen,and Global Ambassador will also be Iconised with major floatilas in Parade.
The creative iconic structures in symbolic Adire Osun Fabrics will Parade different Carnival Costumes and accessories symbolising each Yorucentric iconic depiction.
Youth Engagement:
According vTo Hon. Tunde LaFave,”We have also creatively introduced other youth engaging elements to the parade -Horses, Bikers, Skaters, Agree,Boys Brigade,Ƙegites and IMOLE Choir Ensemble,Cultural Troupe, Drummers,all costumed in beautiful Adire Osun to add major excitement to the street Carnival.
Duration of Carnival/Security:
The Carnival has been ” strategically designed to last for 8 hours,starting from10a.m in the morning. The Event Committee has aligned with relative agencies of government to provide adequate security,traffic control, Emergency Medical Services, through out the duration of the Festival.
Traffic Diversion/Control
Solid arrangements have been made for traffic Diversion and Control and “ample notification, enlightenment and publicity will also be given to road users as it relates to diversions to accommodate the Carnival routes plans”, he said.
While rounding off his speech, the SSA ,Creative ECONOMY ,Event and Entertainment Hon. Tunde LaFave, enjoined the Media to educate the public on this coming cultural event. He says ” Adire Osun Festival is a major Legacy project that will not only catalyse our IGR as exemplified in Ogun and Cross Rivers States respectively but will also create empowerment for teeming youth population in Osun State.

“We also use this opportunity to implore His Excellency,to please declare Saturday,29th December,2025 as Adire Day in Osun State,” he said.
During the Question and Answer section,
one of the participants ,an Adire producer pointed out the non-availability of ‘JELU’,(one of the component materials used for Adire production) in Osun State . She called for the assistance of the government to help them make it available in the State . Also, Mr Mufutau Arowolo from Ile-Aka in Ede township enjoined the Osun Adire Festival Committee to pay a visit to their production site in Ede which calls for modernisation or relocation to a better place because of the current developments in the town that has encroached their places of production. The Osun Adire leadership committee member promised to get back to them to see things as it is, and also navigate how to procure the unavailable materials for production of Adire .
Osun cultural troupe added pep to the conference with various cultural displays while the event lasted.
