The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke,has re-established his administration’s top priority in Education, and absolute commitment to ensuring safety in Osun Schools.
The Governor revealed this via his Deputy,Kola Adewusi at the Day 1 of a 2-Day of the Nigeria Police Force Stakeholders Forum on Schools’ security in Osun State held at the Local Government Service Commission, Abere on Monday.

The Governor, Adeleke,calls for synergy between the Educational Authorities, Community Leaders,the Police and other security agencies to protect schools from external aggression.
The Governor showered encomium on the Inspector General of Police(IGP),Kayode Egbetokun, for prioritising safety in schools and expressed the State’s readiness to support the initiative.
Governor Adeleke goes further to state that education remains a priority for his government,and they are committed to ensuring schools are safe and secure.
According to the Governor, “Osun State has recorded zero attacks on educational institutions,an achievement that must be sustained through collaborative efforts.”
The Governor, also highlighted his administration’s efforts to reform the education sector, including rebuilding infrastructures, restoring discipline, and renewing hope among students, teachers and parents.
Governor Adeleke therefore urged the police to adopt modern technology and intelligence -led policing to ensure proactive law enforcement around schools.
Delivering his speech, Eluwole Sunday Adedipo,the Commissioner for Education,Osun State,thanked the governor for providing logistics to support Educational pursuits in Osun State
Eluwole said,” this has culminated into a fortune in education sector in Osun State considering the overall assessment.
In his own Speech, the Special Adviser on Security to the Osun State Governor, Samuel Ojo, stated that “the State has a Zero tolerance for insecurity;added that, this was born out of the fact that a cordial synergy with security outfits in Osun State is always ensured.”

Earlier, the Commissioner of Police,Osun State Command,CP, Ibrahim Gotan,representing the Inspector General of Police,said,”Police initiative includes training programmes for educators,administrators, and security personnel to recognise and respond to security threats.
“Osun is the most peaceful State in Nigeria.There is the need to strengthen security at the schools level.”
“We need to leverage on modern technology and intelligence -led policing to ensure proactive law enforcement presence around schools “,he said.
CP Gotan however, appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke for his proactive approach to security consciousness in Osun State.
In his own speech,at the Forum,the CO Abayomi Shogunle,the National Coordinator of Schools’ Protection Squad,(SPS) highlighted the initiative’s focus on strengthening security resilience and integrating host committee.
The Forum was a beehive of stakeholders from educational institutions, security agencies,and community leaders to brainstorm on strategies to making safety a top priority for Schools in Osun State.
