In preparation for the forthcoming local government election in Osun State, a multimedia journalist and ewí exponent, Mukhtar Ajelogbon De-Moon has counselled stakeholders in the state on the need to have a credible election in the state.

Recall, that Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) had earlier fixed February 22nd, 2025 to conduct election across the 30 local governments including the Area office in the State.
To this effect, the Osogbo born publisher of the OsunReporters News and State Chairman of Osun Online Publishers (OOPA) here, uses his unique poetic diction of Yoruba language to admonish, caution, appeal and advise various stakeholders in the pre, during and post election participation.

He sends massages of caution to the electorates and Political parties on violence-free campaigns. He equally sensitizes the contestants to confirm the genuiness of their candidacy from within before canvassing for votes especially at this critical time of local government enabled autonomy.
Ajelogbon calls on the youths to play their roles diligently and not allowed themselves to be used as bad and destructive elements before, during and after the election as this would go a long way to promote unity and peace within the state.
The three-minutes-twenty-seconds video is full of advice and warnings to the appropriate quarters which includes the State electoral umpire, the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC),to discharge its duty without fear or favour, strike the balance and produce credible election come February, 2025.
The electorates are further sensitized not to engage in vote selling with the popular slang “DIBO KO’SEBE or DIBO KO’RALE” meaning ‘sell your vote and Cook soup or sell your vote and buy a plot of land’. He notes that such act would lead to the emergence of bad leaders which would bring misfortune in the near future.
Ajelogbon then calls on the Nigeria Police Force,the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to be proactive and remain steadfast in the bid to curb vote buying to the barest minimum if not totally eradicated.
He implores journalists to use their professionalism in the discharge of their duties because they serve as ears, eyes and mouth of the masses, adding that their professional contributions to success of the election remains vital as ever.

Ajelogbon who is versed in broadcast, print and digital media, called on Osun State Government under the watch of Governor Ademola Adeleke to give a level playing ground to every party and contestants in order to have a free, fair and credible election in the state. He concludes, that there will be winners and losers in every contest, hence the need to embrace peace is sacrosanct.
