I t was a indeed a sad end for a Graduate of Abia Polytechnic, Aba and the entire Polytechnic community as one of its brilliant graduate was hit by a truck on Tuesday after completing her clearance exercise in the campus preparing for her National Youth Service.

 

Miss Mary Ogechi Ezekiel, a fresh graduate  of Abia Polytechnic , Aba was reportedly  crushed to death   after finishing with her clearance on campus  heading for her home.

 

She was on Tuesday , March 5 , hit by a fast-moving   truck  in front  of her institution.

 

According  to a source,  Mary  graduated with a first class (2.1) from  the department  of accounting  in the Polytechnic.  She was in school  for her clearance  in preparation for the National service.

 

Report had it that, while she was  moving out of the campus gate after the clearance exercise,  she was elated that she would soon  be mobilized for the National service.

 

 

Not long after, as she was about to cross to the other side of the road  , she was hit by a tricycle  . Before  she could  get up , ”she was unfortunately and spontaneously  crushed by a over -speeding truck. ”

 

Mary , who was raised by her poor mum, was said to have  received a scholarship from an organisation  to pursue a post-graduate  course before  the sad end.

 

As a result of  the incident, and seeing her lying dead, students of the institution were trying to  mobilised for a protest and swiftly cordoned the vehicle not to allow an escape.

 

However, the management  of the Polytechnic and the student Union Government   of the institution saved the situation  from going mutinous. The students were begged to calm down their nerves   .

As as the time of filing this report , there is yet to be an official pronouncement from the institution management.

 

May the soul of the departed rest in peace , and comfort to the parents of the departed.
