Tricycle Rider: ‘ I Rob Charms On My Tricycle Seat To Make Passengers Sleep Before Robbing And Rapping Them’-Suspect

 

A 40-year-old tricycle rider involved in pickpocketing and forcibly raping his victims has been successfully apprehended by the Bayelsa State Vigilante Service.

The suspect, identified as Thankgod Godwin, hails from Oghara in Delta State and operates his criminal activities on a daily basis using his tricycle.

He was caught by the vigilante group stationed at the popular Tombia-Etegwe roundabout in the state capital on Monday.

 

 

The arrest came about after one of his victims, whose phone was recently stolen along the Alamieyeseigha Expressway in Yenagoa, identified and traced him.

According to Mr Doubiye Alagba, the Chairman of the State Vigilante, investigations revealed that the suspect, along with his accomplice named Keme, also known as Lion, residing in Biogbolo but currently on the run, specializes in stealing from and forcefully raping victims using their tricycles.

Upon apprehension, the suspect faced severe beatings before being handed over to the police for further interrogation and investigation.

During interrogations, he confessed to the crimes, revealing details of his modus operandi.

The suspect admitted to using charms to make his victims fall asleep before robbing them of their belongings.
