I WILL BE FAR AWAY FROM ABUJA AFTER MAY 29-BUHARI

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has said that he’s looking forward to his retirement in Daura, Katsina State after he had performed his official duty of handing over to the newly elected President on  29th  May 2023.

This was revealed by Femi Adesina, the president’s spokesperson in Abuja while receiving the outgoing  British High  Commissioner to Nigeria Catriona  Wendy Laing.

The President said, ‘’I will be as far away from Abuja as possible’’.

The UK was lauded for cooperation on many fronts, particularly on the rebuilding of the North-East, hitherto ravaged by insurgency.

According to Buhari,  the UK was a second home for many Nigerians and relations between the two countries will continue to wax strong.

‘’In fact,  some wealthy Nigerians don’t feel complete till they’ve had a home in the UK, Buhari added.

Laing  had earlier  said, ‘She was sad to  be leaving  because of her love  for Nigeria, most   importantly, the music, dance and culture, and she’s had  a fantastic time in Nigeria.’

‘’It has been good to experience  Nigeria. I have been to over 20 States, and I have told my successor also to do the same. I’ll be back, and still travel wider ‘’, she said.

Laing congratulated Buhari for a very successful  8 years in office, saying he had performed very well to have held the country as one.
