6 Years of Re-Engineering a Modern Oyo State

#ITSOyoState2025 – Why This Summit Matters

In our last communication, I shared news of the MOU signed with an investor for the transformation of Agodi Gardens. That agreement is the first in a new wave of projects structured to restore confidence and rebuild investor
trust.

It is no secret that in the past, the promise of tourism-led growth in Oyo State has
faced setbacks. Projects were announced but not delivered. Commitments made, but not kept. In acknowledging this,
we do not dwell on blame.

We move forward with corrective vision and a stronger, more transparent
framework.

This Summit marks the official unveiling of five investment-ready sites, each curated to reflect our cultural richness, ecological diversity, and economic potential:

• Eleyele Lake – poised for eco-cultural transformation
• Ibadan Cultural Centre – being revived as a premier performance and heritage space

• Bower’s Tower – reimagined as a heritage leisure destination
• Iyake Suspended Lake – developed for eco-spiritual tourism
• Idere Hills – a natural adventure and cultural experience hub

Each of these projects comes with clear pathways to private participation, infrastructure support, and government guarantees on access, land security, and enabling policies.

Invest in Heritage. Leave a Legacy
This is a working summit:
• Investors will receive detailed project briefs and financial projections
• Technical tours will allow firsthand site inspections
• Expression of Interest windows will be opened immediately after
• Government MDAs are aligned to respond to enquiries and facilitate ease of doing business

We already have a
one-stop liaison for private partners to interface with government in a seamless and structured manner warehoused at OYSIPA.

We are going further to present the Oyo State 25-Year Tourism Masterplan Committee and show how these investments key into our overall strategy.

As Governor, I see this summit as one of the defining legacies of this administration. But more than legacy, it is a reset. A chance to do it right.

Restoring confidence is not just about fresh capital. It is about accountability, visibility, and continuity. That is why we are ensuring that every project launched from this summit has clear timelines, visible milestones, and dedicated oversight.

This is what makes the future of tourism in Oyo State not nostalgic, but strategic. Not speculative, but investable.

To every business leader, investor, tourism stakeholder, and cultural visionary: I invite you to be part of history.
Join us on 22-24 July 2025, not just to witness — but to shape — the future of tourism in Oyo State.

Talk to you again soon.
