As Osun State joins the rest of the world to commemorate the World Health Day,the House of Assembly has commended the good disposition of the  Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to the health sector.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Wale Egbedun made the commendation during an advocacy visit by the Osun State Office of the World Health Organisation, Ministry of Health and the State Hospitals Management Board( HMB)
Hon. Egbedun while highlighting the many sterling gestures and eagerness of the Governor to bring improvements to the health sector since he became the Governor of the State, identified the importance of good and qualitative health delivery to the populace.
The Speaker alluded to how Senator Adeleke gave an outright approval for the complete rehabilitation of the Osun State House of Assembly Clinic despite paucity of funds accruing to the state when the administration came on board .
On the part of the State Parliamentarians,he stated the efforts of the current Assembly towards better health provision for Osun State residents with the passing into law, Osun State Primary Health Care Development Board.
Earlier, the Chairman House Committee on Health, Hon. Kashope Abolarin, appreciated the Speaker for making the visit a reality in spite of its short notice ,just as he reaffirmed the 8th Assemblys’ commitment at ensuring that the health sector receives the desired attention.
Commissioner for Health, Barr. Jola Akintola in his own remarks appreciated the State Assembly for the working synergy between it and the Executive.
Also speaking,the Chairman, Hospitals Management Board, Dr Kingsley Akinloye,represented by the Vice Chairman of the Board, Elder Dosu Adedayo enjoined all present to spread the gospel of prevention being better than cure when it comes to health related matters.
Osun State Coordinator, World Health Organisation (WHO),Dr Ojediran Oluwatoyin whose remarks centred on the theme of this years celebration, “My Health, My Right” commended Osun State Government’s efforts to accelerate progress in Universal Health Coverage (UHC). He also acknowledged  the contributions of the Osun State House of Assembly in building a resilient and inclusive healthcare system.
Law makers representing  Ife-Central, Ifelodun, Obokun, Ede-North, OlaOluwa and Ilesha West State Constituencies in their separate contributions appreciated the collaboration of the World Health Organisation with the Osun state Government.
