Former Anambra Deputy Speaker Collapses During His Daily Exercise

A former deputy speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Harford Oseke, is dead.

Oseke reportedly died on Monday, August 19, at the age of 64.

It was gathered that the former lawmaker was engaged in his daily exercise routine at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka when he collapsed.

According to eyewitnesses, efforts to revive Oseke was futile as he was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.

His body has since been deposited at the Apex Medical Centre in Awka.

Born in August 1960, Oseke was a native of Umuawulu in the Awka South local government area of the State.

A law graduate, Oseke recently completed a Ph.D. in Public Administration.

Asides politics, the former lawmaker was a prominent figure in the freight forwarding industry in Port Harcourt and was actively involved in the importation of fishing feeds into Nigeria

He was a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and contested for a seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly.

He also served as the Majority Leader before ascending to the position of Deputy Speaker in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
