The Nigerian Air Force has released footage of airstrikes carried out in Kusasu, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, showing suspected bandits attempting to cross a river, with a canoe seen arriving at the gathering point.
DAILY POST earlier reported that the incident followed an air operation on Sunday in Guradnayi, a settlement near Kusasu, where an unspecified number of civilians were reportedly killed in the strike.
Local sources said the attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday, with eyewitnesses estimating that at least 12 people lost their lives in a single residence.
“It happened around 5 a.m.,” said Auta Awododo, a resident of Kusasu, who added that one of the victims was his cousin’s son.
