Governor Adeleke’s Son Narrowly Escaped Alleged Assassination Attempt In Osun

Nigerian singer Adebayo Adeleke, known as B-Red, narrowly escaped an alleged assassination attempt in Osogbo on Wednesday afternoon.

Naija News reports that the incident happened at about 3:30 PM near the Oke-Fia area, close to the Government House.

According to an account by the singer, he was followed and chased by a group of suspected hoodlums while moving through the area.

B-Red had stepped out to buy items at Alekuwodo market when the situation began.

At a traffic point under the Okefia flyover Bridge, some motorcycle riders wearing AMBO caps reportedly tried to surround his vehicle.

As he attempted to leave the scene, another vehicle, identified as a white Toyota Venza, appeared and joined the pursuit.

The chase became more intense as both the car and the motorcycles followed his jeep, attempting to block his path.

The trailing continued in the environment until he was able to reach the gate of the Osun State Government House, where he found safety.

During the incident, the governor’s son said he recognized one of the individuals involved, identified as Asiri Eniba, whom he described as a known political thug.

“As I went out to buy some stuff around Alekuwodo , I saw some Okada riders with AMBO caps trying to surround my vehicle at a traffic point under Okefia Bridge. As we tried to move out, we saw a white Toyota Venza approaching, and someone shouted that it was me.

“As we moved, the Toyota Venza pursued us, trying to block my jeep, while multiple motorcycles also joined in the chase. The pursuit continued until we got to the gate of the Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia, and we identified one of the occupants of the vehicle to be Asiri Eniba”, he said.

The case has been reported to the police, and an investigation is ongoing.

Following the incident, the Osun State Government reacted by calling for the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.

The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, made this known in a statement, urging security agencies to act quickly on the matter.
