Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has said that compliance with asset declaration should be a minimum standard for every public office holder in Nigeria.
He said no public officer in the country has an excuse for non-compliance.
The Governor has also directed that all public officers who are required to declare their assets do so without delay.
Governor Otti, who was received top officials of Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, South-East zone to his office on Tuesday, emphasized that he and his deputy duly declared their assets before assumption of office,
He noted that all political appointees and public officers in the State must comply with the constitutional requirement in asset declaration.
“When I hear that some people have not visited the office or have not complied, it is strange,” he said.

Earlier in his speech, the Zonal Director, Code of Conduct Bureau, South-East zone, Mr Akinfolarin Feyishola, appealed to the Governor to assist the CCB in enlightening Abia public office holders on assets declation.
