….says “We were in the same hospital together”
Former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, has disclosed that he and the late President Muhammadu Buhari were both receiving medical treatment at the same hospital in London.
While Abubakar was discharged, Buhari sadly passed away on Sunday, July 13. Speaking during an interview with Channels Television on Monday,
Abubakar described Buhari’s death as a major loss to the nation. He recalled that upon hearing of Buhari’s passing, he immediately visited the hospital to console the family and assist with arrangements for transporting the body back to Nigeria.
Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, Abubakar said they had known each other since 1962 when they both joined the military, with Buhari as his senior. He noted that they also served in the same sector during the civil war.
Abubakar praised Buhari as a quiet but deeply honest man, saying, “You could trust him with anything, and he would never betray you.” He emphasized that Buhari’s passing is a significant blow to Nigeria and predicted that his death will have an impact on the country’s political landscape.
