Woman Banned From UK For 10 Years After Paying ₦15m For A Fake Certificate

I was banned from the UK for 10 years After I Paid 15million Naira For A Fake Certificate-Victim

According to a recent interview with Brekete family, a Nigerian woman has been banned from entering the United Kingdom for ten years after ignorantly purchased a fraudulent Certificate of Sponsorship for ₦15m.

Speaking in a live radio interview, the victim narrated how she was introduced to an alleged immigration agent, popularly known as “Mr. Blue,” by her sister. Hoping to secure a job as a care worker in the UK. She paid 80% of the required amount upfront, with the balance demanded upon the certificate’s arrival.

However, after submitting the document for visa processing, authorities discovered it was fake, resulting in an automatic ten-year ban from the UK.

The program host attempted to contact “Mr. Blue” using a UK number, but the calls were either rejected or went unanswered. Eventually, he responded, claiming he was merely a middleman and had transferred the money to a Nigerian travel agent who allegedly arranged the sponsorship. He insisted that he, too, had been deceived.

Further investigations revealed that the Nigerian agent had been arrested, but the money had already been spent. The radio host issued an ultimatum, demanding that “Mr. Blue” take responsibility and facilitate a refund before the following Thursday.

Cases of fraudulent migration schemes have been on the rise, with many desperate Nigerians falling victim to fake job offers abroad. Authorities warn against trusting unverified agents and advise prospective migrants to confirm all sponsorship certificates directly with UK immigration officials before making any payments.

The victim, now back in Nigeria, expressed regret over the ordeal, warning others against taking similar risks. Despite the setback, she remains hopeful that justice will be served and her money recovered.
