Akindele solicits  rebates on taxes, dues and levies on  registration of Private Medical Practitioners in Osun.
………..as OHIS Boss receives NMA State leadership on courtesy visit.
Appeal has gone to Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to grant rebates on registration fees being charged Private Medical Practitioners in the State, with comparison that the charge which is #20, 000 in Lagos State is  #75,000 in Osun State.
 The downward review according to OSHIA Executive Secretary, Dr. Rasaq Akindele ,will not only enhance good healthcare delivery, it will also serve as a panacea to reducing ‘JAPA syndrome’ among health practitioners.
Dr  Akindele stated these while addressing the State NMA leadership on a courtesy call on him his office.
Earlier, NMA Chairman, Dr. Adedapo Adetoye had appreciated Governor Adeleke for the appointment of one of their members as OHIS helmsman.
Dr Adetoye also requested Governor Adeleke to make the call duty allowances of  State Health workers tax-free in order to make their monthly take-home robust.
Dr Akindele seized the opportunity of the NMA courtesy visit to highlight some achievements of OSHIA since his appointments, including: Remarkable increase in the number of OHIS informal enrollees in the last 5 months; Free enrollment of 23, 000 pensioners into the Scheme from 1st February,2024 as well as Free surgery and medicare for pensioners in the State scheduled for 20th February,2024 at State Hospital, Asubiaro, among others.
Dr Adetoye,on behalf of NMA, pledged total support for the administration of Governor Adeleke, in his policies and programmes on improving the health status of the residents of  the State.
The NMA Chairman was accompanied by the General Secretary, Dr Adeyemi Amuda. Also present at the meeting were the management staff of OSHIA.
