The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nyesom Wike, has declared two notorious kidnappers in Abuja wanted. In an effort to fast-track the arrest of the kidnappers, the former Rivers State governor has placed a bounty of 20 million naira on them. He said that anyone who finds the two kidnappers will be given the money.
According to the report by Daily Post, the identities of the two kidnappers are Dahiru Adamu and Abu Ibrahim, and they are said to be behind some of the terror activities in Abuja.
Speaking during a meeting with the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh, Wike said that he has placed a bounty on the two criminals, and that he wants them to be fished out whether dead or alive. He said that anyone who gives information that will lead to the arrest of both of them will be given the 20 million naira reward.
He said that since the kidnappers have decided not not allow the residents of Abuja to rest, the authorities will not allow them to rest too.
He said, “I will put money on them. I have placed a N20 million bounty on the two of them. Anyone who finds them will get the N20 million.
“Fish them out, dead or alive. We will not give them breathing space just as they’ve not been giving us breathing space.”
In the past months, kidnapping has been on the rise in Abuja, with several residents abducted for ransom that runs into hundreds of millions. Some of the victims have also been killed by the kidnappers because their families could not meet up with the deadlines that the kidnappers gave them to pay the ransom to secure their release.
